The Durham Regional Police Service is committed to providing quality police service throughout Durham Region. We are committed to working with all members of the community and we hold ourselves accountable to improved effectiveness in everything we do.

All complaints filed by the public about our policies and services, or about the conduct of an officer, are taken seriously by the DRPS.

Complaints can be categorized into two areas:

1. Against the policies of, or services provided by the Durham Regional Police Service
2. Against the conduct of a Durham Regional Police officer


The process for filing a complaint against a police service or service member arising out of an incident can be initiated by visiting the website of the Office of the Independent Police Review Director or click on the link below for the new OIPRD public complaint form.
